Aid Our Daycare's Certification and Upgrades
Donation protected
I run a low-cost in-home daycare for children ages 2-6. It is my intention to become certified through the state so that I can accept state payments, as well as continue to provide quality low-income care to my community for those who do not qualify.
Because I am not a licensed daycare, I am limited to taking in only five paying clients at a time. Choosing to work with families who cannot afford the traditional system also puts me in a position to operate close to cost. I'm fully aware this is my choice and completely understand anyone who feels I should raise my prices to meet these desires.
Between barter, my own savings, good ol' elbow grease, and keeping a close eye on "free" items, I have been able to upgrade the playground, sensory materials, start painting the main portion of the home, and begin a full floor installation, as well as obtain some materials to start the kitchen's remodel. However, the kitchen and the bathroom both need a renovation due to the age of the home and degraded materials, which I have been assured by professionals is still safe for at least the next 5 years. The cost of attempting licensing is $900 per attempt, not including fees associated with becoming state certified to receive govt funding for needy families.
I am asking for donations from those who deem my cause worthy. It is only a desire to continue to build my brand and provide quality care for children who are otherwise relegated to babysitters who cannot or do not provide meals, curriculum, and quality outdoor time, and are ill-equipped to manage children with disabilities either due to education or experience.
