Dear friends,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your help in supporting our beloved White Bear Meadery.
On the evening of Saturday, July 12th, the women’s restroom at the Meadery was severely damaged. We don’t yet know whether it was intentional or accidental, but the extent of the destruction is significant — and deeply disheartening. Even more troubling is that no one came forward or immediately informed the staff.
This is not the first time the Meadery has suffered damage. Just recently, someone tore the urinal divider from the wall in the men’s restroom. Two major incidents in such a short span have created an unexpected financial burden for this small, family-run business.
The estimated cost for repairs is around $3,000, which includes opening up the wall, installing new wooden backers to reinforce screw mounts, patching and sanding drywall, reinstalling partition hardware and door frames in both restrooms, and covering the walls with durable fiber-reinforced plastic to prevent future damage. This also includes labor and other necessary materials to ensure the bathrooms are safe, secure, and fully functional again.
As many of you know, White Bear Meadery is more than just a venue — it’s a second home for so many of us. For the past two and a half years, they have generously opened their doors to host our Morbid Maker’s Markets and helped build a vibrant, supportive, and creative community. Personally, they’ve given me — and countless others — opportunities I never imagined possible.
Now it’s our turn to give back.
If you’re able, please consider contributing to help cover the cost of these urgent repairs. Every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. Let’s come together and show the Meadery the same love and support they’ve always shown us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Let’s help keep this special place thriving.
