Hello humans,

My name is Odie, short for Odin, and I am a Therapy Dog in Tallahassee, FL. I completed my therapy training last year and graduated at the top of my class! The other dogs were fabulous too, and I made many friends, humans and dogs alike!

I have been visiting some wonderful patients in the hospital, giving them warm hugs and licks, and comforting them when they were lonely or scared, or when they just needed some happy company. I LOVE my job! I have met so many great humans in and out of the hospital who tell me I'm such a good boy.

As luck would have it, I had a small accident almost 2 months ago. I was in my backyard chasing a squirrel... well, because I also LOVE to chase squirrels, and I came around a tree too fast for my short little legs. My doctor said I tore my CCL (ACL for humans) and have to have surgery to repair it before I can even THINK about chasing those rascally squirrels again! I've been hobbling around on 3 legs ever since. But mainly, I want to get back to helping sick patients feel better, and I can't do that with a bum knee! :(

So now I'll be having surgery soon, but my mama and papa need some help with my medical bills. They are both elderly and retired, so this kind of expense is difficult for them. We don't know quite how much it's going to be yet, but estimates run from $3500-$6000, including follow-up to make sure I'm healing well. Can you spare a little bit of pocket change so I can be sure to get the care and therapy that I'll need?

Who would've thought that I'd be the patient this time, needing others to help ME? The sooner I get my knee back in shape and finish healing, the sooner I can get back to doing what I love most... bringing smiles and cuddles to people who need my friendly warmth to brighten THEIR day... and MINE!
