My name is Obigail, and I’m raising funds to help my family in Trelawny, Jamaica, who were devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

This storm has completely changed our lives. Our family home was badly damaged, roads around us have collapsed, and many of our belongings are gone. We are trying to stay strong, but every day feels like a struggle to hold on to hope. I am heartbroken and frantic. Several of my loved ones — including my 85-year-old grandfather, my brother, and my niece — are still missing. Not knowing where they are or if they’re safe is unbearable. My younger cousins also lost everything in the storm and now don’t know if they’ll be able to return to school. With the death toll rising, fear and sadness are overwhelming. I wish I could help more people, but right now my heart and focus are on finding my family, keeping everyone safe, and trying to rebuild the little that remains.
