Aid Nugget's Battle with Neurological Issues

Hi, my name is Karla, and these are my babies, Nugget and Ketchup.

On March 10th at 11 PM, Nugget started showing signs of imbalance during her walk. At first, I assumed she was just slipping on the wet grass. Unfortunately, it was far more serious than I realized.

By March 11th at 5:30 PM, I heard her cry and found that after waking up from her nap, her entire right side had become extremely stiff. I immediately panicked, woke my partner up, and rushed her to the emergency room. We arrived within 10 minutes, where they ran blood work and X-rays, everything came back normal. They induced vomiting in case she had ingested something, gave her IV fluids, and sent us home, where she was still able to walk. However, as soon as we got to the car, I had a gut feeling that something more was wrong. That visit alone cost just under $2,000.

Fast forward to today at 5 AM, and Nugget was completely immobile. We rushed her to an emergency vet hospital with a neurologist, where they determined that something is affecting her brain. It could be a fungus, bacteria, or her own immune system attacking itself. To find out for sure, she needs an MRI and a spinal tap, which will cost between $8,000 and $10,500. These tests are crucial in determining the best course of treatment and medication for her. We are still waiting for confirmation on her diagnosis and what her treatment plan will look like moving forward.
