My name is Jessica. I'm a friend of Nipa's. I am deeply saddened by recent turn of events, but feel compelled to share a brief update and give you the chance to show your support.

To say that Nipa, my friend and colleague, has been through a few tumultuous and tragic months is an understatement. After caring for her mom, who was battling health issues for several years, she recently had to take an extended leave of absence back in December as her mom had taken a turn for the worse. In January, as her mom's life was coming to an end, under hospice care and in the comfort of their home, the family met an unexpected health emergency. Nipa's son ended up in the ICU, and Nipa found herself swamped in unanswered questions, confusion, and devastation. Nipa's mom passed away a week after her son was admitted. Shortly after, she made the difficult decision to officially resign from the Langham.

Almost a month later, after doctors had no further treatment recommendations, answers, or hope to offer her son, Nipa brought him home to be comfortable, safe, and by her side. He passed away the following day.

As you may know Nipa, she was incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and reliable. In the time I knew her, she was never not taking care of her mom and supporting her son. Her routine was work, home, work, home. Her days off were dedicated to mom's doctor's appointments, tending to her house and pets, and running errands. She was the sole provider for her mom and son, and never did she complain about her commitments. She never vacationed for herself. When she did take vacation time, it was to prepare her mom for a trip to Thailand, or prepare her home for a visit from her family, so her mom could spend time with her children. Nipa is selfless, loyal, hardworking, proud, genuine, kind-hearted, generous, and gracious. When donations were ever collected to help a colleague, she'd be the first in her purse and eager to contribute, but she'd never be one to ask for help.

Your support is truly appreciated, and I imagine that your generosity will remind Nipa how much she is loved during this unbearable time. I would like to collect donations that she can use for medical bills, living expenses, and anything else now that she's not with the hotel. Thank you for your contributions!
