Hello - I'm trying to help my daughter who has had a run of bad luck. Nicole is a cardiac nurse at Atrium in Charlotte, NC, currently working as an ECMO specialist. She gives 1000% to her friends, family, and especially to animals ~ always has.
When Helene hit, her horse Ace, along with several others, were flooded out of their field. Ace was the last horse rescued.
Nicole went first thing in the morning (after her shift at work) and picked up hay, feed, and water for every horse on the property.
Fast forward to this April, Ace contracted Strangles (a viral illness from another horse at the barn). Ace had to be quarantined and had several vet visits, creating a very large vet bill. Not to mention additional costs for hay and medicines. Ace was in quarantine for almost 2 months, which required daily visits to the barn to check on him.
Then at the beginning of June, Scout, Nicole's cat, developed a urinary tract and kidney infection (pyelonephritis). He did not respond well to treatment, and the difficult decision to put him down was made on 6/12.
Scout was found as a throwaway kitten, only a few weeks old, on Nicole's way into a bar with a few friends. Nicole picked up the kitten and went home to give him a home. A true lover of animals and natural caregiver.
On June 29th, just 2 weeks later, Nicole's Beagle, Hunter, got into chocolate that was left out.
Hunter, being less than 25 lbs, became extremely ill. He ended up at an emergency vet hospital and was ultimately admitted for 2 nights.
These vet bills over the past 2 1/2 months have been in excess of $7700.
Nicole has been working extra shifts to try not to fall behind on all the rest of life's expenses, but could really use some help and a break.
Anything you could do to help with these expenses would be greatly appreciated.
Nicole has no children; her pets are her children, and this has been extremely stressful and expensive for her.
Please consider helping out.
