My roommate and friend, Loni, was recently hospitalized in Sweden after a terrifying accident where she fell while dodging an oncoming car. She sustained severe injuries, including an open fracture in two joints of her elbow with significant joint surface loss. Loni had to undergo immediate surgery to clean out gravel and reposition the protruding bone. She now faces a long and arduous recovery process, starting with another surgery on Tuesday, August 6th, to repair the fractures.

Tragically, while Loni was away coaching in Sweden, she was laid off from her full-time job at her club due to budget cuts. This has added an immense financial burden on top of her already challenging situation.
