Hello everyone, I'm reaching out asking for answers to prayers and pleas for help. This is hard for me to do, but it’s been a hard year! The father of my children and spouse of 25 years was diagnosed with 2 types of lung cancer on February 17, 2025, Non-small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of his main airways. We have lost our home and both vehicles trying to survive just monetarily, not to mention emotionally and physically. I am walking to work day and night for 13-hour shifts and any overtime I can get, and being the sole caregiver during the day. As the only caregiver/caretaker of this family now, I am responsible for everything and everyone. Though I’m falling short and struggling. Any help I could possibly get would be greatly appreciated. At this point, we are living close to the hospital in an extended stay. I’m looking for a place, but it’s a vicious circle in this economy.
Johnny is also struggling physically and mentally. He has had 3 bronchoscopies, multiple scans, and a major surgery with the right lobe of his lung removed. Due to the nature of the 2nd cancer in his airways, chemotherapy is next. We are in for a long road, hopefully to recovery. Cancer is a disease that changes the dynamics of the whole family and affects us all differently. The children suffer so much, as do I as the money maker and caregiver, but the patient suffers the most!
Please find it in your hearts to help as much as you can. We need a vehicle to get to work and appointments, and we need a home. A place to recover and come together. If we could just get back there, I can maintain it. I have 2 degrees in healthcare myself, but this economy doesn’t make it possible to sustain a family of 4 by myself, especially with medical expenses on top. I appreciate everyone and everything. May God bless you all!
