For those of you who know me, I try to be as independent as possible. I’m reaching out during a difficult and unexpected time. Recently, I was diagnosed with a large 5x4 inch cyst that requires the removal of my entire right ovary. This surgery is necessary as the size of the cyst will create further complications, making the ovary unable to be saved. While I’m relieved it will bring improved health for the future, the recovery process has brought new challenges—especially financial ones.

Because of the surgery and the time I need to heal, I’ll be unable to work for a couple of weeks to recover. I’m fundraising to cover my basic living expenses—rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation as well as medical expenses that will not be covered by insurance—so I can focus on recovering without the added stress of falling behind on bills.
