Hi friends :)
I underwent spine surgery, via vertebral body tethering, at NYU Langone on March 25th of 2024, and have been recovering and living a more fulfilling life of activity ever since! Unfortunately, due to the experimental nature of the procedure, Aetna has refused to cover a portion of the surgery, involving the titanium screws and tether. I've been sending in 20-page, research-based appeals with precedence from other patients and science-backed efficacy rates over the years. Notwithstanding my efforts, Aetna has denied my final tier of appeals, and I'm left with $15,000 remaining for the surgery. To further complicate the pre-existing issue, two of my titanium screws in my vertebrae broke in half recently. However, it's imperative that my previous surgery is fully funded before I can pursue revision surgery to address those two fractured constituents in my spine. Any help at all would mean the absolute world to me, and I hope to pay it forward with every person I encounter who has a need of their own!
Thank you so much for being here <3 I appreciate you all, endlessly.
