Help Restore Dignity and Care at the Chios General Hospital

The current conditions at the main hospital in Chios, Greece, are dire—and we urgently need your help.

Right now, only two nurses are assigned to care for over 40 patients at a time. These dedicated professionals are doing everything they can, but they are overwhelmed, overworked, and under-supported. Patients are not just inside the hospital; many are forced to stay in small trailers outside, often four to a trailer, due to a lack of space.

The situation surrounding the trailers is heartbreaking:

Construction debris piled high

️ Broken hospital beds and wheelchairs discarded outside

️ Trash scattered everywhere—conditions that are unsafe and undignified for anyone, let alone the sick and vulnerable.

This is not what healthcare should look like.

This is not what patients deserve.

And this is not what the people of Chios should be forced to accept.

• Hire additional nursing and support staff

• Provide essential medical supplies and basic hygiene items

• Improve patient living conditions, especially in the outdoor trailers

• Clean up and safely dispose of the surrounding debris and waste
