Aid Needed: Fire Recovery for Freeman Family

This past Sunday afternoon, Matt, Bria, and the kids were out of the house when they received a nightmare phone call that their neighbor's house was on fire and the wind was blowing the flames in their direction. In a terrifying panic, they rushed home to find their house completely encircled in flames. A heroic neighbor and Bria’s dad had thankfully gotten to the house before them in time to evacuate their animals.

Though they are beyond grateful that their lives and the lives of their animals were spared and the majority of their house is still standing, they will most likely need to dispose of the majority of their possessions due to smoke damage. Their house has had exterior damage, interior smoke damage, and several outbuildings burned down including one that supples water to the home. They have been told they will not be able to inhabit the home for a while. Insurance will pay depreciated values on some of their belongings, but in the meantime, they are left cash-strapped and without the majority of their clothes, food, school supplies, and daily necessities. The intent of this GoFundMe is to help them get the supplies they need over the course of this next month while they figure out how to rebuild and what can be saved.

The Freemans went through a very similar situation 5 years ago when their previous house flooded and they were left homeless and forced to throw away the bulk of their possessions. The accumulated trauma of both a flood and fire has also, understandably, left their children with some emotional scars. They would like to have the ability to devote some funds toward therapy sessions for them as well. They are beyond grateful for the support of family and friends and look forward to offering their support to everyone when they are back on their feet.
