Aid Needed: 6.9 Earthquake Strikes Bogo & Communities

Our hometown of Bogo City, Cebu and its neighbouring communities suffered another calamity. At 9:59 pm Philippine time on Tuesday, 30 Sept, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake left the city in ruins: shattered buildings, our church, houses, and roads. The beautiful, centuries-old churches of the neighbouring towns are also in ruins. Medellin, Daanbantayan, San Remigio, Tabogon and Bantayan Island all face the scenes as Bogo—
ruins, traumatised people, injured, the dead in body bags. The living camped out in open spaces.
We have not yet seen our family home. On the one hand, we would like to see it; on the other hand, we fear seeing it.
Rubble. Dust. Putrodung warped steel from collapsed buildings. Destroyed vehicles. People, plenty of displaced people everywhere. And there are also unseen people in the villages with no access to main towns, just as vulnerable and impacted
After 12 years of rebuilding their lives from Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, which took many lives and livelihoods, an earthquake did the same on 30 September 2025. But this is worse. The aftershocks are relentless since that fateful evening — they keep coming in a space of 1-5 minutes.
We seek your help so we can help them. Every amount helps. Every dollar donated will go towards relief goods.
This is a joint effort by Mariza, Daniella and Criselda. Together, we are not only raising funds online but are also organising a 3-course meal fundraising event in Sydney to gather more support.
To ensure transparency, we will share photos and videos of where your donations go.
Daghang salamat! Thank you!
