We are raising funds for Mike to help with his unexpected medical and home update expenses. Mike, a Navy Vietnam veteran, and retired Caterpillar UAW worker, unexpectedly suffered a major stroke last week. He went in for a routine outpatient surgery. Within a few hours of returning home, is when the stroke occurred. He has been hospitalized since May 9th. He has insurance but he is going to be in extensive rehab for quite some time and will need nursing care after that. Until the day of the stroke, he was very active living alone, remodeling his home and gardening. His home is in current construction disarray, and unliveable. We would to love to hear from any groups that may be willing to help us get the home safe for him to come home. He is a proud man and would never ask for help, but we want to help relieve some of the financial worries and give him a reason to have hope of getting better and return to his home.
