Help My Sister & Brother-in-Law (Kathie and Lynn Ruward) With Medical Bills and Emergency Housing

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law, Kathie and Lynn Ruward, who are facing an incredibly challenging time right now.

Despite being assured that their home in Reno, Nevada would remain available, their landlord unexpectedly terminated their lease—leaving them scrambling to find emergency housing on very short notice. This sudden upheaval would be difficult for anyone, but for them, it’s compounded by serious medical issues that have already created a heavy financial strain.

My brother in law is a two-time cancer survivor and continues to battle serious health issues. My sister is also facing ongoing medical challenges that will force her to close her business. They are both battling ongoing health problems, with mounting medical bills that have been difficult to manage even before this housing crisis. Now, they’re facing the stress of displacement, rising medical costs, and the emotional toll of it all—simultaneously.

We’re hoping to raise $8,000 to help them cover:

Medical bills (both past due and upcoming)

First and last month’s rent, deposit, and moving costs

Essential living expenses during this difficult transition

My sister and her husband are the kind of people who quietly show up for others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
