Hello! I am currently seeking help from my community as I have been disabled since July 2025 (the day before my birthday). I broke both my ankles, my right ankle required emergency surgery to place metal plates and screws as I had broken all 3 bones. I then started physical therapy, and that did not go well. I followed up with a podiatrist and according to the imaging I had done I required a second surgery just this January 2026. I am currently on state disability however I am running out of money in that account. I’m not sure what to do as walking is still painful and my ankle swells. I live alone and would like to be able to keep some form of my independence. Anything will help and is greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to get back to work as a nurse very soon. This was a very very unexpected injury.
