Currently, I am an animation student in the United States who just finished their 2nd year of college. However, the future of animation in the States is looking grim between worker strikes, the threat of AI, the push of outsourced animation, and diminished job prospects. Not to mention the current political climate. I don’t feel like I have a future here.

So, I am currently trying to transfer to Vancouver Film School to finish out my studies. Their program is not only better equipped for the current industry that is thriving in B.C., but it will provide me with those local industry connections that are crucial to securing a job post-graduation.

However, my family is not in a financial situation to aid me in this endeavor. None of them can even help cosign for student loans, so I can’t pay for my education that way. Which now leads me here, to you.

Art is something I have wanted to do forever, some of my earliest memories being me drawing characters from shows or books that I loved. And as soon as I realized that animation was an option for me, it is where my heart has been set. I have already poured countless hours and years into my passion, and now I have been put on a clock to make my dreams come true.

December is when my current apartment lease ends, and I will be moving up to Canada to start my new journey. To support my move, I need roughly $5k for my study permit approval, as I have some of my own funds from work that I have managed to save. Plus, an added $10k to help pay for tuition costs.
