Support Mr. R Through Multiple Health Crises and an Uncertain Relocation
Hello, my name is Mr. R, and I’m reaching out for your help during a challenging time marked by serious health issues and an uncertain move. For 14 years, I’ve lived in my current home, where I served as a dedicated caretaker for the homeowner, who now resides in an assisted living center with dementia. This house has been my sanctuary, filled with memories of care and responsibility.
I’m facing multiple debilitating health conditions that urgently need attention. A massive umbilical hernia causes constant pain and severely limits my ability to walk or lift heavy objects. I also suffer from developing glaucoma, severe neck pain, an arthritic right ankle, and periodic severe knee pain, making daily tasks like walking and standing extremely difficult. These conditions require urgent hernia surgery, ongoing treatments, and an accessible living space to maintain my independence. Without support, I risk delaying critical care, which could worsen my health.
Additionally, I’m navigating an uncertain relocation with no friends or family in my city to support me. The homeowner’s brother, managing the property, plans to sell the house and has given unclear move-out timelines—first 30 days, then 60 days—without a formal eviction notice. My architectural work has dried up, and I rely on a modest Social Security check, making it nearly impossible to cover moving costs, a new apartment, or medical expenses. I’m depending entirely on the kindness of this community to help me through this transition.
I’m humbly asking for $8,500 to cover the costs of relocating to an accessible home, undergoing hernia surgery, managing my other health conditions, and securing temporary assistance for daily tasks during recovery. Your donation, no matter how small, will help me access life-saving surgery, secure a safe and accessible home, and manage my health challenges. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with your network or community—it could make a huge difference for someone facing these challenges alone. I promise to keep you updated on my progress, from securing a new home to recovering from surgery.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.
