My husband Monty has had cancer for 10 years. He has had chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery to treat it. He has reached a point where there is no more treatment available, and he is getting hospice now. He is not eligible for health care beyond Medicare, which pays for the hospice but not the day-to-day care he needs. He needs caregivers every day and all day. His wife, me, had polio as a child, and I use a wheelchair full-time, thus I can't provide all the care he needs. Caregiving is expensive. On average, we are spending around $4,000.00 per month on caregivers. Any assistance is appreciated.
