On October 23rd, the cabin my mom & stepdad were staying in just outside of Placerville burnt to the ground while my mom was sleeping, within a matter of minutes. As some of you may know from some of my previous posts, they were unhoused; staying in tents alongside rivers & cities, & things finally started turning around.

Thankfully, Tommy got there just in time & was able to get my mom out just before it reached her entirely. While both are injured, my mom has intense 3rd degree burns on both of her feet, her hands, & on her face. As I write this, she’s currently in the intensive burn unit receiving treatment for her infected wounds. With all of this being said, everything they’ve ever owned was caught in the fire. They’ve been left with absolutely nothing, & while I am currently accepting donations for clothing, I am also looking for funds to get them the support they need.

I am eternally grateful that they are both alive & I couldn’t thank my stepdad enough for running into a burning building to make sure my mom made it out. This has been a huge setback for them, & such a traumatic experience; & anything received will be going towards their recovery.
