In June, our mom was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Scelrosis), at just 45 years old. Also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. There’s no cure for this. Something we never imagined we would face so early in life. Anyone who knows our mom knows the kind of woman she is: selfless, loving, and the first to show up when someone else needs help or support. She spent her life caring for others, both in her work and in her everyday life, long before she ever asked for anything in return.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends, and even strangers, our mom was able to take her dream trip to Hawaii this year. That trip created memories we will cherish forever, and we are endlessly grateful that she had that moment of joy in the middle of so much uncertainty. We can never thank everyone enough for giving her that gift.

Now, as her daughters and full-time caregivers, we are learning just how overwhelming and costly ALS truly is. The expenses go far beyond what we ever expected:

• Specialized medical care

• Home accessibility modifications

• Adaptive equipment

• Safety devices

• Mobility support

• Daily living needs

• And continue creating as many meaningful moments while we still have the chance to make them for her

We have moved in with our mom to care for her, and we are doing everything we possibly can: physically, emotionally, and financially. But ALS is a devastating disease, and the costs grows quickly. We have a benefit planned for January, but even with that, we know we cannot do this alone.

This GoFundMe comes from us, her daughters, with humanity and gratitude. We know people have already given so much, and we don’t take that lightly. Any contribution, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page, makes a real difference in our ability to keep our mom safe, supported, comfortable, and surrounded by love.

Our only goal is to give our mom the care, comfort, and memories she deserves. Thank you for being part of her support system and for helping us make her days a little easier during the hardest chapter of her life.

Walking through this with our mom has opened our eyes to how little is understood about this disease and how urgently more research and funding is needed. We want to do our part by sharing her story and helping raise awareness in hopes that one day no family will have to face this.
