My name is Robert Wine of Richmond, KY and I'm trying to help out my dear friend Misha Lawson, who lost much in the Helene Hurricane in FL. I've known Misha since 2018, and we've been friends ever since.
Hello and thank you for stopping by to read the page. Some of you may know Misha has endured some medical issues over the last couple of years. In February 2023, she had a heart attack, a Widowmaker. This year she had additional medical issues and went on medical leave in February 2024. As she was preparing to return to work in April, she received a notice that she and 10 of her colleagues were being furloughed. By the end of May, she and her colleagues were terminated.
If you’ve been watching any of the posts, you’ve seen Misha’s updates about Hurricane Helene and how it’s impacted her specifically. Just to recap, approximately 80% of her possessions have been damaged or ruined. She has insurance and even a hurricane rider, but she was informed by her insurance company that she did not have flood insurance, which is separate from the hurricane rider. To no one’s knowledge, the area that Misha lives in has ever flooded in the past. She will need a new couch and other living room furniture, much of her clothing replaced since there was sewage in the flood waters, along with bedroom furniture. She had just gotten a new box spring and mattress for her move to a new location and the flood got it also.
Misha has a long road ahead of her. She is financially strapped due to her job loss and her medical debt. Now it’s time to begin the cleanup efforts. As she works on things, she’s sorting through what is destroyed and what she can keep. A few people have offered financial assistance, so we, her friends, are beginning this GoFundMe page to help with financial matters and getting Misha back on her feet. She will be using the funds raised for the deductible on her car, as well as necessities such as toiletries, clothing, appliances and furniture.
Misha feels very blessed for many reasons. First, she and her pets are all safe and healthy. Second, by the outpouring of love through prayers, texts, and phone calls. Please continue giving her support in any way you can. I will make sure to use the fundraiser transfer to her account. Bless you all for aiding a lady in need.
