Aid Mila's Recovery After Tragic Accident

Mila was doing great and was recovering very well, doing Physical Therapy and her doctor said that she is doing fantastic! We managed to raise around $14k with your help and life seemed to slowly be turning to "normal". But a few weeks ago Mila's surgeon called and said that they've received her X-ray transcripts and it seems like 2 of her vertebrae were coming apart from each other in the area of spine not affected by her previous surgery...We've been told to pause her PT for now and prevent her from all sorts of activities until the next appointment. Today during her follow up appointment the doctor confirmed that the situation isn't getting better in this spot and she needs another surgery to extend the implant...Which means another $10-15K on top of $26k we've already spent! We hate to ask again and appreciate so much what y'all have already donated, but unfortunately we need your help again! We still owe around $9k for her previous surgery and we need to take another loan for the next one. We're literally considering selling a house to pay off the debts. **UPDATE#1**

The doctors found a fracture in Mila's spine as well, right before she was supposed to go in for her pelvic surgery. Unfortunately, this means that she may lose mobility in her hind legs permanently and it means that she needs complicated spinal surgery. We transferred her to the Tufts hospital in Grafton where they can perform this task. She is already in surgery right now as it was time-sensitive. This surgery is more expensive than pelvic surgery and our costs have more than doubled. We were given the option of putting her down but feel strongly compelled to fight for her life. She is so young and is always excited to see us, even when drugged and in a full-body cast. We are confident that she can live a happy, full life even if she needs some assistance with mobility (i.e., a dog wheelchair). I will increase the goal to $20,000 to reflect a number closer to the new costs, even if we can only reach a portion of it. Our family has experienced an unexpected tragedy. Our sweet dog, Mila, was hit by a truck on a main road after escaping from her owner, Vitaly. Given how severe the impact was, we are grateful that she is alive. However, she was badly injured and suffered a great deal of pain. We rushed her to the nearest emergency veterinarian, Westfod Veterinary Emergency where she received wonderful care. There were some scares along the way involving her lungs and some internal bleeding, but she is now in stable condition and already starting to recover. Her greatest injury is a severe pelvic fracture that will require complicated surgery. With all of the treatment she has received so far, plus the cost of surgery, we are looking at a bill that may be around $10,000. We will receive the final estimate soon and update the goal as needed.

Unfortunately, we do not have much money in our savings account and were not prepared for Mila to need significant medical care at such a young age (10 months). Our puppy insurance plan only covers preventative care. We opened a Care credit card to cover the deposit but will have a hard time paying off such a large sum of money. We have experienced other tragedies in our family this year that have added to our grief and financial difficulties.

As hard as it is that we have had to seek help so often this year, some people have already asked if we have a GoFundMe for Mila, so we decided to set one up. We will add a photo of the final bill once we receive it, update the fundraising goal accordingly, and upload it to the page. Any donations great or small are appreciated.
