My friends, Mike and Debbie Epperson, are hard working people. Mike is a body man who has been working for a Ford dealer in Independence and has his own body shop, as well, On July 28, he was working in his shop when the truck he was working on caught fire. His wife saved his life, but Mike sustained 3rd degree burns on his torso. He is still at the burn unit at Research Hospital where he will be for at least another week. He is undergoing skin grafts and then therapy. But due to the nature of the skin grafts, he will be unable to go back to work once he is healed. The body cannot sweat where skin grafts have been placed; leading to a dangerous state if one is in the heat. Mike is the main breadwinner in the family. He will go on short-term disability, but only for 3 months. He is also a US Air Force veteran, which is near and dear to my heart, as Terrance (my late husband) was a Vietnam vet. So, needless to say, it will be a stretch for the family to make ends meet at this time. Setting up a Go Fund Me account was, to me, the best way to reach the most people to ask for help for this family. If it's in your heart to help, that will be greatly appreciated! And please keep praying for Mike's recovery and their finances. They are truly grateful for all of the many prayers! If anyone wants to give, but does not want to go through the fund, please DM me and I will give you their mailing address and you can send them a check or money order.
Thank you so very much!!
