In December 2022, Michele was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Since then, she has faced every challenge with remarkable strength and resilience. Despite multiple setbacks, she continues to stay positive and explore every possible treatment option.

Throughout this journey, Michele remains a devoted mother to her daughter, Zoë, who just started kindergarten, and is supported every step of the way by her loving fiancé, Patrick.

Many of us know and love Michele — a Ramey alum, a loyal friend, and one of the most compassionate, courageous, and uplifting people you could ever meet. She has always been the first to offer kindness, laughter, and support to those around her, no matter the circumstances.

Now, Michele is facing one of the hardest battles of her life. As she continues to fight with her trademark grace and determination, we want to surround her and her family with the same love and support she has so freely given to others.

Michele has continued to work full-time as a social worker, but her most recent scan revealed multiple lesions in her bones, which are now affecting her mobility and causing significant pain. To complicate matters, doctors have discovered a compound fracture in her neck that requires surgery. Surgery will delay other treatment options like chemotherapy and radiation. Because of this, she will need to apply for short-term disability — which is unpaid — adding financial strain to an already unimaginable situation.
