Aid Michael's Shelter Needs After Tragedy
Donation protected
My name is Heather and I worked with Michael for 10 years at Wing It in Douglasville from 2005-2015. Michael was always a pleasant and hard-working co-worker. I spent much time around him and his loving wife Candra, who was the sweetest person. In November of 2023, Michael has his right foot amputated as a result of diabetes. The following October, only about 5 months ago, he lost his loving wife and best friend, Candra. With his second amputation scheduled for November 2024, and living on only his SSI, Michael could no longer support their apartment they had together. He ended up moving into a motel ($1600/month), rehoming their pet cat, and even letting their storage go. Still in recovery and recently denied food stamps because of no permanent address, Michael is up against the wire for finding a place to stay within his current means. Despite being still in recovery, he is on the lookout for a job, but without a car, this may impossible at the moment. (Yes Michael is so determined he's been walking around town to get business done when no one offers him a ride.) I have also had him call to get on the list for a cabin at Banning Mills, which is fully within his financial means, but the list is usually about 6 months to a year long wait. Today I'm asking help raising funds for a kind soul who's life has taken a tragic turn, to help him keep shelter over his head while he recovers and can get back on his feet. Anything helps!!
