Hi everyone, I am Memrie. I was a hard working single mom of two children, ages 11 and 15. I have always been independant and do not like to ask for help.. December '24, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I had the tumor surgically removed, but unfortunately had complications from infection post op and went through two more procedures. A couple months later, I was involved in a domestic dispute and had my spine broken. The doctor suggested letting the injured vertabrae heal on it's own.. In March, I had my first round of chemo treatment. About a week later, I became severely ill and was rushed to the ER. My body had started to go into septic shock due to several places in my body being infected with staph infection and double pneumonia. The hospital staff did not see me getting well after a couple of days & were afraid of the worst of me. Thankfully, I did overcome the infections after staying over 10 days. As I was home recovering, several weeks go by and I was back at the hospital with a partially collapsed lung due to an amount of 2 liters of fluid inside to be drained. After a weeks stay, I was well enough to go home again. Several more weeks go by as I am home healing again after another long hospital stay, I noticed my back pain progressively has gotten even worse than ever. The doctor did a new scan and found out the L1 compression fracture has worsened to a burst fracture where the broken pieces of my bone have dispersed away into my spinal cord, leaving a gap for the surrounding bones to curve into causing a painful curved deformation. I am now pending a major spinal surgery date to correct this issue. Meanwhile, my oncologist has halted the chemo due to all these recent health issues.

As I end this story, I have not been physically capable of working to make income to provide for my family and I am all out of other resources. I have truly been down on luck and life. So I am asking, pleading and hoping for your help! I hope you hear my story and feel my heavy heart during this devastating year I have had.
