UPDATE:
❤️I want to thank you all for your love and support!❤️
Melinda is now with Hoffman Funeral Home in Carlisle. Her obituary is at the link below on hoffman funeral home page.
Were still in need of donations to get everything handled with the boys. They are having a hard time. Its hard losing a mom at such a young age. And they shouldn't have to grow up without her. Its alot for them to take in, so we want to make small adjustments at a time. Since unfortunately alot has changed for them already. We want to make this transition as comfortable as possible.
On Sunday June 22 around 7pm my sister, Melinda Steimling 37, stopped breathing at home. She was having a conversation with her 5 year old son when she fell down. The paramedics worked on her at the house for over 30 mins and in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and did all they could to stabilize her. They got her heart beating again on its own and continued to work on her breathing. The doctors said it was cardiac arrest due to a clogged artery to her heart. They did surgery on her to fix the artery. On Wednesday June 26 the doctor's told us the horrible news, Melinda’s brain had been deprived of oxygen for to long and she had no brain activity.
So on June 26, 2025 the Lord took my sister from this earth to be with both her earthly father and her Heavenly Father. My sister was always the back bone of the family even though I would never tell her that to her face. She had strength and she never turned her back on anyone in need! I am going to miss her tremendously. She is leaving behind two boys. Chance who is 14 years old who has cerebral palasy and needs constant care and Carter who is 5years old with challenging behaviors. These boys only ever had their mom. Carter is a mamas boy to the max and will need some therapy to help him process.
They are going to have to live in separate homes to as we pull together closer as a family to take care of each other. I have already 6 kiddos and were trying to make room for our nephews.
If my sister knew it took 4 of us to do what she did everyday she would never let me hear the end of it!
We are asking for help in this difficult time. We aren’t the best at asking for help as we are usually the family that helps others, however we need help.
Any thing you can give goes to Melindas funeral expenses and towards the boys relocation and therapy expenses.
Thank you for your continued prayers, and support in this sudden and tragic time.
May God bless you and your family!
Hug them a little tighter, you just never know.
