Hi, I'm Megan and I'd like to raise funds to pay for my medical bills. I have been diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a hereditary and lifelong skin disease.

A year ago, I went to my PCP for a big bump under my arm but never saw a dermatologist for it. It had went away before I could make an appointment so I honestly never thought anything of it and was happy it was gone.

Later when the problem came back, the bump grew and migrated sideways towards my back. It turned into a long skin lesion that was painful and made the skin a red-purple color. My family and I didn't know what this was and it got progressively worse.

I was kicked off my father's job insurance months prior and when I was seen by a PCP by Medi-Cal , he referred me to a dermatologist that schedules new patients 4-6 months out.

The area turned into multiple painful abscesses last month and were not closing on its own no matter how much I went to an urgent care that accepted my insurance. I couldn't wait anymore for my appointment in October so I made the decision to pay out of pocket on a dermatology urgent care visit and a dermatologist office visit. I lost my job a month before so I had about $300 in my account. I had already spent $440 on only two visits and I am in debt already.

The newest culture results were read as HS. I have to be on strong antibiotics for this and possibly have deroofing surgery in the future.

For right now, most of my visits and other tests will be out of pocket since waiting for my appointment through Medi-Cal at the end of the year isn't the best option. My disease had turned into Stage 2 since I had waited so long to be seen and the skin deterioration was rapid.

I want to ask friends, family, and anyone for help with this. Anything you can give will mean the world to me and feel like I am not alone in this. Thank you.
