Hi, my name is Megan Hunt, I’m 39, and I’m the proud mom of two incredible kids, Russell (16) and Owen (13). I love my children more than I can ever put into words.

Over the past several years, I have fought with all I have to protect their stability and best interests during a high-conflict divorce and custody dispute. I was a stay-at-home mom for five years while my ex served in the Air Force, then I joined the Air Force myself in 2017 and served honorably for 6 years. I've always had an incredibly close bond with my kids and feel it is an enormous privilege to be their mom.

In 2022, I asked charles for a divorce. I will not share details that arent mine to share, but i will say that I faced signoficant verbal, emptional and financial abuse. He agreed to the divorce and said he'd wait until I was "on my feet" after choosing not to re-enlist in the military. Despite having written agreements and repeated assurances from my ex, I was blocked from relocating our children to Michigan, where both my Ex and I are originally from. The result has been years of crippling legal battles, false allegations, financial strain, and perhaps worst of all, his continued emotional and coercive abuse. Let's be clear, his choices are not about the kids or what is best for them. It is about power and control. He has it, and the system meant to provide justice instead serves as another mechanism of control. Its a living nightmare.

In early 2025, after multiple consultations with attorneys, the advice I repeatedly recieved was that there was no way to guarantee he'd ever relocate to Michigan like he originally said, and that the only way to be with my kids was to move back to Florida. And so, we did. I sold a lot of belongings. I moved mountains to get us back to Florida.

My ex immediately filed his own relocation motion using primarily false or misleading information to support moving the children to Michigan. Against everything we'd been told, the relocation was granted. In july 2025, my children were ripped away from me again after i did exactly what the "pros" told me to.

Recently, my entire tax refund was intercepted to pay child support "arrears" based on false statements that I “never contributed anything” to my children’s care — even though I have documentation showing I assisted with expenses prior to our child support order. Losing that money has left me struggling to survive after relocating yet again.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I hate asking. Seriously. This feels like rock bottom, to be at rock bottom like this. Independence and self-reliance are incredibly important to me and I am ashamed, if I'm honest, to ask. But right now, I need help to:

-Cover basic living expenses after losing my tax refund

- Pay court filing fees and legal costs to continue advocating for my children

- Maintain stability and transportation to visit and care for my kids

Every donation, no matter how small, goes directly toward these needs.

How Funds Will Be Used

All proceeds will go directly to:

- Attorney fees and court filings

- Housing and utilities

- Transportation and child-related necessities

I am being transparent because I know trust matters. Friends have already helped with temporary housing, and this support allows me to focus on what matters most: my boys.
