Aid Meagan and Daughter Recover After Eaton Fire

Support artist and mother Meagan Boyd figure out next steps while she can't get access to her home, her daughter's school burned down and her art and studio have been affected by the Eaton fires in Altadena, LA.

For those of us who have the luck to know Meagan, we know her heart to be one of the most generous for her loved ones, her community and anyone who's suffering around the world. All of 2024 she has been raising funds for several families in Gaza and beyond. As a fellow artist and friend I am always in awe of her resilience and empathic heart. Meagan is beyond heartbroken, overwhelmed, and exhausted with grief for her beloved community. The Eaton fires swallowed them whole. While her house was miraculously spared, the majority of homes in Meagan's neighborhood were burned to the ground. Their favorite neighborhood spots -everything that made Altadena special- were wiped away in a matter of hours.

Meagan can’t access her home, and even if she could, the conditions are unlivable. Her house is surrounded by rubble, toxic waste, lingering fumes, no electricity, and no potable water. Meagan's studio and inventory still need to be assessed for damage, but for now, she has no home, no office, and no studio.

As a single parent, the fundamental necessities she relays on to provide for her daughter have been taken from her—her daughter's school, too, has burned to the ground.
