Aid McKenzie Browne's Family After House Fire

Hi everyone, my name is Jen Gezequel & I'm here to make a special request of assistance for my niece, McKenzie Browne & her family. Kenz & her family were displaced from their home in Alma, Michigan due to a house fire in the wee hours of Sunday, December 15th. McKenzie & her husband Tommy have 3 young children - Luna is 5, Nox is 3 & little Nova is 2 yrs old with special needs. Everyone got out safely & they are OK, but they are definitely shaken up! Red Cross has helped put them in a hotel room for now in Mt. Pleasant. They do have homeowner's insurance, but there are a lot of unknowns at this time. It is known that their house took on a lot of smoke & water damage, and there is burn damage on the 2nd floor. They will likely be displaced from their home for quite some time & will have many unexpected expenses.

It's never a good time for a house fire, but it's especially inconvenient during Christmas. I would like to help give them some Christmas magic in their temporary home! Kenz & Tommy will also likely have extra wear & tear on their vehicle due to this displacement. Little Nova has specialized doctor appointments at U of M hospital for her special needs & I certainly do not want them to miss any of these important appointments due to this unexpected burden. Kenz & Tommy also have 3 pet cats that may need temporary shelter/housing until something more permanent can be determined.

*UPDATE* The insurance company had a restoration person meet Kenz & Tommy at their house today & there will be more insurance visits in the coming days, but they were able to salvage a few things during their visit. The insurance company is also looking hard for larger housing for their family including their 3 cats during this displacement. Unfortunately, they will definitely need new supplies for their cats including a litter box, litter & cat food. Another immediate need is a pack & play for little Nova.
