Aid Max's Journey to Walk Once More

Story

Hi everyone, my name is Evan, and Maxwell is my big brother. On his birthday April 25th what was supposed to be a perfect day snowboarding at Timberline Lodge turned into our family's worst nightmare. Honestly, I'm not used to asking for help, but right now, my family and I need all the support we can get. I'm currently raising my young daughter, and our parents recently had serious surgeries of their own. This is going to be a long road, and Max is going to need intensive care. I'm reaching out to our community, asking everyone to pitch in and help my brother recover. It happened on his second run of the day. Max was snowboarding fast, doing what he loves, when suddenly he hit a hidden ditch. He tried so hard to stop, but it was too late. Max slammed hard into the other side of the ditch. When help arrived, the first words out of his mouth were chilling: “I can't feel my legs.” Max was helicoptered to OHSU, where doctors discovered the severity of his injuries. He burst fractured thoracic vertebrae 12 with a spinal cord injury. Also suffering compound fractures in his left wrist and a break in his right wrist. Right now, Max is still in the hospital with very weak legs and is unable to stand or walk. The doctors say it’s going to be a long and difficult recovery. My brother Max is honestly one of the kindest people I know. He's a friend to everyone, always smiling, always ready to help. He loves staying active, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors. He’s also incredibly dedicated to his job at Precision Cast Parts, helping build airplane parts that keep people safe every day. We’re hoping to raise atleast $20,000 (if we get close to the goal we will raise the cap) to help cover Max’s medical bills, upcoming surgeries, intense rehab therapies, and the daily costs of living as he heals. Every little bit helps, and your support would mean the world to us. Please donate if you can, and share Max’s story with your friends and family. Let's help Max get back on his feet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Evan PS: Thank you Dillion Nicholson for guiding me through the gofundme process.
