Matthew Williamson heart failure recovery hope fund

Hi, I am Jasper. I am the partner of Matthew Williamson. He is currently in the cardiac ICU at OHSU in Portland, Oregon after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is in critical condition and is on the highest level of life support still as I type this. The path to stability is very long and bumpy, and the path to recovery for him is even longer and not guaranteed. His body suffers greatly from this event and ultimately if recovery is possible, he will lose parts of his legs. He will need an intense amount of physical therapy, mental and emotional support, and eventually prosthetics. We are still learning more and more about the extent of the current and upcoming damage to his body and as of right now we cannot say with any certainty if recovery is possible. Myself and his family are asking for financial support during this time as Matthew is incapacitated and will not be able to return to work for many months, potentially years. I am also unable to work, and his family is also not working so they can be here with him as he goes through this ordeal. I will be out of work indefinitely until he is on the path of recovery. This money will be used for medical bills, food, rent, and to support the needs of his family as well.

Matthew Williamson is the most beautiful and vibrant man I have had the pleasure of knowing. We have been together going on 13 years. We met in Eugene, Oregon in 2012, and have been practically inseparable ever since. I cannot imagine my life without him and where I might be had I not met him. His family has accepted me as one of their own. Since we met, we have shared so many wonderful things together. He has been my biggest fan since day one. He has supported me in unquantifiable ways over the many years we have been together. He's an incredible human being and has touched the lives of so many people. He is cared about by so many in ways that I did not fully understand before this happened. I am so scared for him. I can only imagine how he is feeling while he is unable to communicate with us. I cannot wait for the day that I can hear his voice and see his smile and his beautiful eyes again, when we can share a savory meal, go on our next adventure, or cuddle as we fall asleep.
