Aid Mason's Medical Journey and Education

A few weeks ago, I was honored to be seated with Mason at a scholarship dinner. We were both excited to not only receive this scholarship but also for what our future held. We both started our Law Enforcement program at NWTC in August.

Mason began to notice he was having trouble in our fitness class. He could tell something was going on because he was doing 8-minute miles and began to struggle with that.

After seeing his physician and having many tests run, Mason found out the unthinkable. He was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Mason is only 19 and has to make a gut-wrenching choice of whether or not he can continue with his education in Law Enforcement. The big issue with this decision is he needs to be physically able to complete the physical portion of this degree.

I am trying to help him and his family offset some stress with his medical expenses. Even though I just met him in August, he has become a great friend.
