Support Mary McLoryd's Recovery After a Devastating Accident
If you live in Warwick, chances are—you know Mary McLoryd.
Mary has been a beloved member of the Warwick community for decades. She raised her family here, substitute taught in the Warwick schools, and became a familiar, friendly face to generations of students and parents. Kind, caring, and always willing to lend a hand, Mary is truly a staple in our town.
On the morning of Sunday, June 8th, tragedy struck. Just after 4 a.m., Mary was involved in a horrific rollover car accident on Kings Highway near Knapps View Park. Her vehicle caught fire with her still trapped inside. Thanks to the brave actions of Officers, passing motorists, and a paramedic, Mary was pulled from the vehicle just in time. She suffered burns covering roughly one-third of her body and was airlifted to the Burn Unit at Westchester Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition and faces a long, painful recovery.
Mary’s daughter, Rashida, has stepped up as her full-time caregiver—managing hospital visits, medical decisions, and the mounting financial burden that comes with a life-changing injury like this.
We’re asking our community to come together and help support Mary and her family in this incredibly difficult time. Funds will go directly toward:
• Ongoing hospital and burn unit care
• Medications, wound care, and therapy
• In-home medical support after discharge
• Travel costs and living expenses for Rashida during Mary’s recovery
• Any long-term recovery needs Mary may face
Mary has given so much of herself to this community. Let’s rally around her and show her the same love and support she’s shown Warwick for all these years.
Any amount helps—and your support, whether through donation or by sharing this page, means more than words can say.
