See video updates of Martin’s recovery journey!
hello , my name is Lissette Lopez and I am starting a fundraiser on behalf of our dear friend Martin Terrazas, who suffered a stroke on Saturday, 7/12. He is stable and in good spirits but is still in the ICU.
Martin has responded well to medications but is working on getting his strength and coordination back. Martin will have a hard road of recovery ahead of him, alongside his partner Kesa. This is why I’m asking for your help to support them with medical bills and the time they will be off from work.
Martin and Kesa are wonderful members of our community and always show up for others. Let’s do the same for them!
update 7/15
Thank you all for your prayers and donations. Martin remains hopeful and will be transitioning to a stroke rehab in the next few days. We are not sure long he will be there, it may be a few weeks or longer.
Martin will be working on getting his strength and coordination back so he can return to his regular lifestyle which includes his employment as a truck driver.
Martin, Kesa, his family, and friends appreciate all the love and support. Your kind words and generosity have been so uplifting.
Update 7/25
Hello Everyone.
Martin did lots of assessments with the therapist yesterday. On yesterday they took him off his bed and chair alarms therefore he's free to stand and walk without staff. They did however change his room and he is now home!
He still has a bit of a road ahead of him but they gave him nothing but praises in therapy! He will now be going to the same rehab but the Homewood it's a day center. He will be going possibly one full day plus 3 days a week for 3 hours a day. He is NOT cleared to drive or work yet. If you are interested in giving Martin a ride to or from rehab , please text or call him directly +1 (773) [phone redacted] .-kesa
Update 7/24
Martin has been at the rehab center for a week now. He is working very hard in physical and occupational therapy to regain his strength. Martin and Kesa are overwhelmingly thankful for your prayers, calls, visits, and donations. Martin shares that he is blessed and thankful for everyone. The financial help has helped him focus more on his recovery. See video updates on Martins progress in the comments.
