I'm starting this to help my dear friend Martha.
Martha has been a vendor in my shop for years. She is the first person to offer help to others. She sells jelly that she makes from scratch, plants she raises in her greenhouse, and she makes yard art from recycled glass.
Recently, her husband of 54 years passed away. She has been having yard sales and selling personal items to make up for losing her husband's income.
Today, she got a call from Microsoft saying her computer had a virus, then a call from her bank saying there was an issue with bank security, possibly an employee from the bank hacking accounts, and she should move all her money to a Bitcoin account which they helped her set up. They told her it was a Federal investigation and she shouldn't tell anyone and should not go to the bank.
Thankfully, she told us, but not before they stole $7,900 from her account, which was all she had left to pay her bills and to pay the credit cards.
My heart breaks for her because she works very hard and the loss of her husband/best friend has taken a toll on her. I am also angry that there are people that prey on elderly widows. I'm asking that you donate what you can. Let's help this sweet lady that helps others on a daily basis.
