Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my sister Marissa Cox and niece, Aniah, who have just experienced an unimaginable loss. In the early morning of December 10th, their home was destroyed in a devastating fire. In an instant, they lost everything — their home, all of their belongings, and three beloved pets. Tragically, one of their pets was badly burned and is in urgent need of medical care.
This is a nightmare no one should have to endure, and as their family, we are rallying together to help them begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives. My sister and niece are now facing the aftermath of this tragic event without the basic comforts of home, and with emotional and financial burdens weighing on them.
What Happened:
The fire broke out suddenly and spread quickly, leaving my sister and niece with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Despite the heroic efforts of the fire department, they were unable to save the house or their pets. One of their beloved animals, a dog who has been part of their family for years, suffered severe burns and requires immediate veterinary care. Thankfully, my sister and niece are safe, but they are facing a long and uncertain road ahead.
