I am coming to you with a very vulnerable ask for support. I finally have my top surgery date, August 13th! I've been waiting for this for a very long time.

However, since I am a contractor I don’t get paid time off or have insurance coverage. All costs will be out of pocket and amount to $9k for the surgery, post op care, time off for recovery, plus odds and ends like surgery pillows, scar and skin care products, etc.

I am going to need extensive community support to get through the next few months as I prepare for surgery and most especially during my recovery. Although, general recovery is between 4-6 weeks. It takes 3 months to get back to 80% regular mobility and 6-12 months for full mobility. My bodywork practice is very physically demanding and I am not sure when I'll be able to get back to that so I will also be looking for additional remote hybrid work!
