Help Manuel Garcia's Long Road to Recovery

On October 26, 2024, my beloved uncle, Manuel Garcia Hernandez, suffered a life-altering accident while working in Georgia. A large tree fell on him, causing severe, life-threatening injuries, including: Facial fractures Brain trauma, Multiple broken bones, and breathing difficulties.

Uncle Manuel was airlifted to WellStar Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, where he underwent emergency surgeries. Doctors placed a tracheostomy to help him breathe and a shunt to drain fluid from his brain. 

 After spending 21 days in the Shock Trauma ICU and undergoing numerous surgeries. On 11/23/24, doctor’s stated, Uncle Manuel’s condition has stabilized enough for him to move out of the ICU. 

However, he remains in a coma and is still battling the effects of his injuries. On November 27, 2024, he underwent another brain surgery to address ongoing complications.

Uncle Manuel does not have health insurance and is ineligible for state benefits due to his immigration status. Unfortunately he does not qualify for any benefits in the State of Georgia. The expenses for his ongoing care—hospitalization, and potential transfer to a live-in recovery facility are extremely expensive.

We humbly ask for your support to help us gather funds to pay for a live in facility for my Uncle Manuel for the care he needs for his long recovery.

Every donation, will make a significant impact and help my Uncle. We also ask for your prayers as my uncle remains in a coma and has not shown any progress in his recovery since the accident and continues to have brain surgery.

El 26 de octubre de 2024 mi tío Manuel sufrió un horrible accidente en el  trabajo. Un gran árbol se cayó sobre él causándole varias heridas de urgencia. Mi tío fue trasladado de urgencia al Hospital WellStar en Augusta, Georgia, donde tuvo varias cirugías debido a las graves fracturas en todo el cuerpo. Mi tío sufrió una hemorragia cerebral y está en coma. Esto ahora está afectando su recuperación. Debido a su estatus de inmigración no cualifica para asegurarse médica. La familia necesita ayuda para reunir fondos para pagar una residencia donde mi tío se recupere por completo.
