Help Support My Mother’s Full Recovery & Safe Journey Home,
Dear friends, well-wishers, and compassionate strangers,
I'm reaching out today with a humble and urgent request from the depths of my heart.
A month ago, my mother was involved in a severe car accident shortly after arriving in the United States from India. She sustained life-threatening injuries, including trauma that required four major surgeries:
Brain surgery
Humerus (upper arm) surgery
Femur (thigh bone) surgery
Laryngeal (voice box/throat) surgery
She was hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for over a month, receiving intensive care and undergoing multiple procedures to stabilize her condition.
As you can imagine, this has been an emotionally and physically overwhelming time for our family. Since she was here from India and was not covered by U.S. insurance, the financial costs have become nearly impossible to navigate alone.
What We’re Raising Funds For:
Ongoing rehabilitation and recovery support (physical therapy, medical supplies, care assistance)
A medically supported evacuation back to India — she needs to travel in a way that ensures her comfort and safety given her condition
Outstanding hospital and medical expenses are not fully covered by travel insurance.
As many of you know, I have dedicated my life to serving full-time as a volunteer with a nonprofit. In this moment of crisis, I find myself needing to reach out to you — my community, my friends, and kind-hearted strangers — to help support my mother’s recovery and journey back home.
Every Contribution Makes a Difference
Whether it’s $10, $100, or simply sharing this campaign, every bit of support helps us bring my mother closer to healing and safety.
We are striving for a full recovery — and for the means to give her the care she deserves. Your help, in any form, would mean the world to us.
With deep gratitude and love,
Manisha
