Aid Lyle's Journey to Overcome Brain Tumor
Donation protected
On Monday, August 26, 2024, Lyle had a focal seizure. When we took him to the Emergency Room, they conducted tests which showed a mass on his brain. He was transported to St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, via ambulance where he underwent more testing which confirmed a brain tumor on his frontal lobe. On Tuesday, he had a craniotomy to resect the tumor which was the size of an egg.
Lyle will be in the hospital for multiple days, he will then be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Spokane, WA to work on Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy. Lyle has sensations in his right extremities; however, he cannot move/use his arm and leg. We are hopeful with the therapy he will receive in Spokane, he will regain the use of his arm and leg, as well as fluent speech since this is delayed from the resection of the tumor.
The pathology of the tumor could take up to two weeks. When the results are in, he will meet with an Oncologist to determine the course of radiation and/or chemotherapy he will need.
Lyle will not be able to work for quite a while, he has many obstacles ahead of him which he will take on in stride because of his determination. He is one of the first to help others in need, let's repay him with an outpouring of support from friends, family, acquaintances, and the communities he is so generous to.
Forever grateful,
