Aid Lulu's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Lulu is a 6 year old Pomchi. She is the light of our lives. We adopted her at 6 weeks old, so she is our DAUGHTER. She has always been very playful, but protective of her family. She is very full of energy, and has a huge personality. She loves to jump, run, play tug of war, watch birds and lizards, as well as bring in her Ket (cat) sister, when she doesn't respond to our calls.
Recently, she started to lose weight, and wouldn't eat her food, preferring plain cooked meats, I attributed it to a recipe change (?) in her dog food. I took her in to the vet because I noticed she was bleeding on her gums after I would brush her teeth, then noticed small blood clots in her mouth.
At the urgent care, it was discovered that she has renal disease, probably congenital, so we took her to the ER, where they were going to admit her for kidney treatment, as well as to surgically repair a hernia, when they noticed she was having clotting issues. The bill rocketed from the initial quote of $2,500, to $25,000, plus the aftercare costs.
All in all, we elected to perform all the treatments that the hospital recommended, but because this is never something that is planned for, we were not prepared to pay $30,000 in one shot.
She is currently still in the hospital, and is recuperating better than they expected, (they don't know my baby is a fighter, and wants to LIVE), but her mommy and daddy need help paying for her hospitalization. Since this is probably going to be a "rest of her life" condition that will need specialized food, supplements, etc., we will be playing "catch up" with these bills for a while.
We don't want to have to say goodbye to her because we can't afford the medical bills, so we are pleading for your help. We understand that we are all dealing with tough financial times, and our lives will never be the same without her, but we couldn't just give up on Lulu without at least trying.
(Her spot is so lonely without her)
