this is louie

He is our 16 year old cat who has kidney disease. He is not just a cat to us, he is our best friend.

in 2022 louie’s health took a turn for the worst and he was diagnosed with kidney disease. He had to have invasive surgery and they told us he might not make it. Louie pushed through and kept fighting.

Since 2022 we have been paying for multiple vet visits, special food, kidney specialist, and fluids that we give him daily.

He has such an amazing quality of life, he loves people, his siblings and has truly never met a stranger.

2025 is not his year though. He developed a bacterial infection on his skin. He also had a terrible burn accident just mere days ago.

Two days ago we noticed he ate part of our fake Christmas tree. He threw up all day yesterday and stopped eating and drinking. We decided to take him to the hospital and spent all night by his aid waiting to see our next steps.

They believe he has an obstruction in his intestines and he needs an ultrasound STAT. He hasn’t eaten or drank anything since the day before yesterday.

The expenses we have for Louie keep adding up and unfortunately we are depleted. We never want to base our decisions on their care on our finances. We always want, and do, what the vet recommends.

We acknowledge that times are hard for everyone, and even asking for anything around the holidays is comical. BUT we appreciate anything you are able to give even if it’s $1!

He will be going back to the hospital today for an ultrasound and we will post about further steps.
