Lil is a three-year-old Aussie doodle mix that is a ball of love! She has so much innocence and literally thinks that everyone is her friend. Lil will kiss you to death if you let her and brightens everyone's day! Lil needs our help!
She went missing in the Bailey/Shawnee area of Colorado on August 22. She returned on September 29 after 38 days missing in the Lost Creek Wilderness. She fought so hard to get back to her papa during starvation, animal attacks, and natural injuries. Her injuries are continuing to add up: $12,000 already paid for 10 days and admittance; $12,500 for the stomach surgery. We aren't sure of the cost of the leg amputation just yet. Cory, her owner, has paid for pet insurance for years, but there are many loopholes, and it seems like they aren't covering much.
Lil's injuries include a dislocated leg that was also de-gloved, likely by a trap while she was fighting off a pack of coyotes or raccoons. During the attack, she sustained over 80 animal bites. She will have to have her front right leg amputated due to the sheer amount of time it has been dislocated. There is just too much wrong with it to save. She also ingested some kind of animal bone and has to have surgery to remove the bone from her stomach. She is fighting infection and starvation. The riskiest part of her whole journey is trying to reintroduce food back into her diet. About 30% of animals survive the introduction process.
Lil fought so hard in the wilderness to get back to her dad for the last 38 days. Please help Lil keep fighting! Lil is still such a sweetheart. As soon as she was found, she was just loving, cuddly, and happy as can be! Let’s share her joy and her love with the world. Thank you. Prayers as well, whatever you can give.
