Aid Lena in Caring for Rescued Foster Skye the Husky

Hi everyone, it’s taking me a lot to finally sit down and create a GoFundMe but this time is the best time out of any time. If you know me, you know, I was also reluctant to start a go fund me because I didn’t think my situation was dire, but reality has set in. I have been Rescue, Foster and Dog mom, and those are 3 different, difficult jobs.

Some of you may know that I rescued 42 lb Skye from a not so great situation in September 2023. I committed to getting her well, get her spayed & chipped, and find her a furever home but unfortunately due to the overcrowding at rescues and shelters partially caused by overbreeding of huskies (Thanks Game of Thrones and Covid-19), it has been incredibly hard to find anyone who is willing to commit to Skye.

This GoFund me will help cover costs that I did not expect to incur over the year. I assumed a dog as wonderful as Skye would’ve been adopted many moons ago. Ive paid out of pocket for:

-normal care (100-150 per month)

-vaccines (250 annually)

-grooming (85-100 per visit)

-boarding + daycare (300-400 per month)

In June, we had a wellness plan but sadly we were neglected by Banfield hospital. They did not call me back for about a week when Skye had very bad hot spots. I had to take her to urgent care because she had been suffering and a $165 visit turned into a $550 visit. Since they were no help to her in this emergency, I decided to get out of the contract with Banfield. This had not been the first time we were neglected, and in order to do that, I had to pay $600 out-of-pocket for everything they did for her up to that point.

All that, coupled with taking care of my incredibly ill family members and myself (barely) has been a lot emotionally, financially, and spiritually - I have been taking every odd job I can, from dog walking to Uber/Postmates delivery. Lena must admit to herself, she needs help.
