Aid Leah Mapurisa's Family After Her Tragic Passing
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Leah Mapurisa, who tragically lost her life on Saturday, September 13th, 2024, due to postpartum pre-eclampsia complications, suffered just five days after welcoming her newborn daughter, Loreen, into the world in Dallas, TX.
On August 24th, 2024, Leah and Edward joyfully welcomed their beautiful daughter Loreen. Both mother and baby were discharged and returned home. However, on August 29th, Leah suddenly fell ill and was rushed to the ER, suffering a cardiac arrest while in the ambulance. Upon arriving at the hospital, she suffered two additional cardiac arrests, which severely damaged her heart and brain. Despite the best efforts of doctors and nurses at Presbyterian Hospital Plano and later at Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where she was airlifted for specialist care, Leah’s condition worsened. On Friday, September 6th, she was taken off life support, and a week later, on September 13th, Leah peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Leah was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. Her sudden loss has left an immense void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Leah leaves behind her husband, Eddie Mutenure, their beautiful newborn daughter, Loreen, now just 25 days old, and their 13-year-old son, Adrian. Additionally, she is survived by five sisters and three brothers and is preceded in death by her parents. This devastating loss has placed an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on her family, and we are humbly asking the community for support during this difficult time.
We are raising funds to help the Mapurisa family with funeral expenses and to provide support for Eddie as he navigates caring for their two children. Any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping to ease the burden of laying Leah to rest and supporting her grieving family.
