Help Lauren During John's Final Journey

Please Help My Beautiful Cousin Lauren

Hi, my name is Melissa, and I have never before raised money for anyone on this platform. I’m reaching out on behalf of two people I love dearly—my cousin Lauren and her best friend and soulmate, husband John, who is now in the final days of his life here on earth.

John is being moved to a Hospice House, a peaceful place where he can be kept comfortable and surrounded by love. Sadly, because he does not yet meet Medicare’s strict criteria for hospice eligibility, his stay is not covered. The out-of-pocket cost is $500 per day, and this unexpected expense has placed a heavy financial burden on Lauren.

For the past 2½ years, Lauren has been John’s full-time caregiver—managing appointments, medications, emergencies, and all the heartbreak that comes with watching the person you love fight for their life. She’s done it with grace, strength, and endless love, even when it meant putting her own needs second.

Now, as John nears the end of his journey, Lauren is still right there—comforting him, advocating for him, and holding his hand every step of the way.

Lauren is also a consultant, which means she only earns income when she’s actively working. Right now, she has stepped away from everything—because being with John in these final days matters more than anything.

We’re hoping to raise enough to help cover:

• Hospice House costs

• Final arrangements for John’s memorial service

• Basic living expenses for Lauren while she’s unable to work

I know this is a big ask, especially if you don’t know my cousin personally—but let me just say this: Lauren is one of the most amazing human beings I know. She gives endlessly to others, shows up with her whole heart, and loves without limits.

And for those of you who do know Lauren, you already know how kind, selfless, and full of love she is. Her heart is beautiful, and right now, it’s hurting. I hope we can all come together and support her in any way we can.
